The 2025 FAI F3K World Championships, held from July 26 to August 2 in Tarp, Germany, showcased the pinnacle of hand-launch glider competition, with 75 senior and 30 junior pilots from 28 countries vying for glory. Hosted by the German Aeromodelling Federation (MFSD) and MFC Tarp, this event marked Germany’s first time hosting the F3K class and introduced the historic first-ever Female Individual World Champion title. RadioMaster is proud to have played a significant role in this milestone event for the RC soaring community.
F3K, a discipline requiring precision, technique, and physical fitness, challenges pilots to hand-launch gliders with a maximum 1.5m wingspan, mastering thermal currents to complete tasks like timed flights and landings. The 2025 Championships were a spectacle of skill, with pilots adapting to fluctuating weather conditions and intense competition across 25 qualification rounds. The event culminated in a thrilling finale, livestreamed by Sport Deutschland TV, highlighting the sport’s growing global appeal.
RadioMaster’s innovative controllers took center stage, helping champions reach victory. Yeon Ju Kang from South Korea made history as the first-ever female F3K World Champion, flying her glider to gold with a RadioMaster Pocket. Her groundbreaking win inspires future pilots, especially women in RC, highlighting the reliability and accuracy of RadioMaster equipment. Senior Champion Marko Damjanovic (Croatia) and Junior Champion Finn Martens (Netherlands) also excelled, with many competitors, including podium finishers like Arijan Hucaljuk (Croatia) and Henri Sander (Germany), seen using RadioMaster Zorro.
